Illustrating the map
Simon Riordan is the illustrator of the Discovery Map and it was first created in 2002 using aerial photographs as a guide. The map was drawn to highlight certain areas of Newquay and therefore does not include every building or street. Instead it is intended to give a general view of the town's appearance and its close association with the beaches, cliffs and natural beauty that greet you at every turn.
Post your views and thoughts about the map here. |

Once in the town it's easy to get about, but if you want to access the beaches then you have to think which one is best to go to. There are a lot of local, and further afield, buses. Taxis can be found throughout the town. Trains are limited in number and go very slowly to Par and St Austell - it can be quicker taking the bus. I hope that helps, even though you asked months ago ... it seems nobody replied to you! Read some articles I have written about Newquay: Things to Do In Newquay |
